Today we create a Circle of Stars Druid character from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything for #DnD 5E. We will start at level 1 and advance to level 10 and discuss all of the Circle of the Stars Features, character selections and spells along the way. This character build will focus on creating a detective type of character that would work well in Candlekeep Mysteries. This druid build is a fantastic option for a player wanting to play a character with strong concentration spells, combat that utilizes attacks with both the bonus and regular action and maximizes Perception, Investigation and skills that utilize Wisdom and Intelligence.
What is a Circle of Stars Druid?
The Circle of Stars allows druids to draw on the power of starlight. These druids have tracked heavenly patterns since time immemorial, discovering secrets hidden amid the constellations. By revealing and understanding these secrets, the Circle of the Stars seeks to harness the powers of the cosmos.
Many druids of this circle keep records of the constellations and the stars’ effects on the world. Some groups document these observations at megalithic sites, which serve as enigmatic libraries of lore. These repositories might take the form of stone circles, pyramids, petroglyphs, and underground temples—any construction durable enough to protect the circle’s sacred knowledge even against a great cataclysm.
Our character today, Aries, will be created using the standard array for ability scores (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) and using the official D&D 5th Edition Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything book along with the Player’s Handbook. In this Druid build we will be using a lot of new options including the Customizing your Origin to give our Changeling the ability scores we need to maximize our potential. With the exception of the Changeling race, most of this build should be Adventure League legal. Simply swap out Changeling for a Human, Elf, or other race from the PHB and you should be good to go.
