Black Lotus Magic Item – D&D to MTG

D&D Black Lotus Magic Item

Black Lotus

Black Lotus

Wondrous Item, Rare
As a bonus action, you may crush this flower in your hand. When crushed, the mystical energy of the lotus transfers to you, restoring a third level spell slot. If you are not a spellcaster or do not have third level spell slots, then the magic has no effect.

If you crush two Black Lotus simultaneously, one in each hand, you instead call forth a Shivan Dragon. It manifests in an unoccupied space that you can see within range. The creature disappears after one hour or when it drops to 0 hit points.

The dragon is an ally to you and your companions. In combat, the dragon shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It obeys your verbal commands (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any, it takes the Dodge action and uses its move to avoid danger.

If a petal is removed from a Black Lotus, two more petals will also detach for a total of three. Each of these petals become separate magic items called Lotus Petals. The rest of the flower will wither and die.

  1. DM Badger says:

    Hey there Wally,
I am about to start a new campaign and I will be running one shots for each person before campaign start in order to help them have some sort of more memorable backstory.
I am looking for a “Puzzle Dungeon” but google only returns puzzles for dungeons for that search.

I am hoping that you have come across such a thing on your travels as a puzzle meister.
